The KDM story.
KipDavisMedia began with a desire to form an umbrella entity to fold the team's
expertise in business management, film, music, writing, publishing, art, theatre and education
into a cohesive whole, one which would be flexible enough to meet any growth opportunities
head on. We channel these activities through one overarching organization.
Each of these pursuits involves a channel or system of information, entertainment or artistic
expression - an act of communicating in some way with the world around us - in a word,
MEDIA.

Tara Richards
Formerly served as Senior Auditor and Business Process Risk Consultant with Arthur Andersen, and as Controller with Relational Investors. An
independent consultant and Certified Public Accountant, Tara provides valuable finance, accounting, operations and taxation advice, in addition to
creative input.
Mary Schaffer
Former head of production, Disney Studios. Mary provides advice on entertainment industry trends and practices, mass media, operations
(including usability, testing, audience analysis and financing) and production.
Value statement
At the most basic level, KDM’s defining value over the years will not be our assets, our size or our offerings. It will be the way we think.
With an experienced team of artists and technical staff, plus the latest high-end media equipment, KDM will distinguish itself by providing a
turnkey approach to bringing ideas to life.
Philosophy
Innovation. That's the key to everything we do. Everyone in the company – whether working in an office, at a coffee shop or on productions – is
expected to be innovative. That expectation means that news of new technological developments constantly dots the KDM landscape, and there’s no
end to KDMers’ fascinating ideas. The result: each project is a unique and exceptional work.
Office locations
KDM's studio is located in the Hollywood Production Center in Los Angeles. The search is on for expanded office space (really cool loft office space)
in North Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
Production offices for Kip Davis Films are located on the Paramount Pictures lot on Melrose Avenue during productions and while leasing
Paramount services.
Business structure
KDM is a Limited Liability Company organized as a conglomerate organization to own various types of media companies, either outright or as a
principal stakeholder. It serves as a parent organization, allowing for (a) maximum flexibility in its operations, (b) the reduction of risk for its owners
and partners, and (c) the ownership and control of a number of different ventures. Business analysts agree that this structure allows capital to be
allocated more efficiently than in a traditional holding company.
Industry affiliations and community involvement
KDM is a member of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, the LAGLCC, the NGLCC, the Department of Defense Central Contractor Database,
the American Film Institute, the Government Contractor Association, the Government Vendor Directory, Film Independent and the Society for Cinema
and Media Studies. We actively support the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, Being Alive, the Spirit Awards, the Association of Young
Journalists and Writers, People Assisting the Homeless, the International Crisis Group, UCLA's Williams Institute, the ONE campaign, Project
(RED) and the United Nations Millenium Project.
